MUSIC THEORY

Playing an instrument or singing a song creates a lot of beauty in our world, and Understanding how the harmonies and melodies are formed is Music Theory.

Making music is like driving a car. Understanding the Theory is like looking under the hood and pulling things apart.  And putting them back together!  

Melody, ear training, rhythm, beats, harmonies, time signatures, major and minor scales, chords, tonalities, key signatures, dissonance, note values, reading notes on a grand staff, and terminology are all presented in a logical, sequential manner. Your personal studies begin exactly where you are in your journey - whether absolute beginner or having had some music experience.

Theory lessons are taught through MFE (Music For Everyone) at the WARE Center, 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.  "Intro to Music Theory" classes are March 27, April 3, 10 and 17, 2025.  6:30 - 7:30 pm   To register, click HERE.
