At the Willow Valley Communities

The Willow Valley Chorale is open to the residents and Smart Life members of the Willow Valley Communities in Lancaster, PA.  Founded by Esther Watt in 2003, the Chorale rehearses weekly, September - May.  Their concert schedule includes a Wednesday evening/Thursday afternoon concert in December, and a Wednesday/Thursday concert in May. The concerts are free, but tickets are required, as the 500-seat auditorium fills rapidly for this musical group's performances!



Questions and Answers

  1.  Are there auditions?  No. If you can match pitch, you are welcome to join

  2.  Where and when do you rehearse?   Mondays 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the Cultural Center auditorium on the Lakes campus of Willow Valley

  3.  Are there opportunities for solos?  Yes

  4.  Is there a fee to join?  No

  5.  What do we wear for performances?  December: solid, long-sleeved black for women, dark suit, white shirt, red bowtie for men   May: long-sleeved white from waist up for everyone, black from the waist down for everyone. 

  6.  What types of music do we sing?  Folk, Broadway, a classic now and then, standards from composers you know and always some new pieces to keep us fresh.
